Pharmaceutical Spray Drying

Pharmaceutical Spray Drying

Spray drying is a particularly applicable technique to the pharmaceutical industry. Micron-sized particles such as filler, particles containing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), etc. are often used to fill caplets or press into tablets, as well as for inhalation powders and compounds. Spray drying can allow for the creation of microcapsules or microspheres of controllable size and composition on a benchtop or laboratory scale level for research, upwards into industrial production, allowing for the design and fabrication of pharamaceutical agents with well-controlled properties such as release kinetics.

Sonaer ultrasonics particle generators or nozzles may be used in spray drying systems. In addition, Sonaer can manufacture or design custom, “turn-key” spray drying systems with heated chamber, pumpsatomizer(s) or nebulizer(s), etc.
