Hydrogel Spraying |
Using a multiple hypo-needle feed or a DMF microtube setup in conjunction with an automated/robotic/controlled positioning and motion system, Sonaer nozzles can be utilized to print three-dimensional hydrogel structures. Polymer and cross-linker are kept separate until meeting at the atomization surface, where spraying occurs, and gelation may occur sometime between that point and sitting on the substrate. This technique allows one to print using separate, relatively "thin" or dilute solutions of both materials, with potentially thin-film layer heights. Similar techniques can be applied to other polymers that gel, as well as to outright polymerization reactions that occur upon combining two or more solutions. This technique can potentially be utilized in conjunction with bioprinting, as well as for wound dressing or tissue scaffold production, in order to print objects with specific properties and composition(s), controlled agent release or degradation, resorption, or bioactivity-conducive features. |

![]() HYDROGEL SPRAYING WITH HYPO DELIVERY |
Sonaer hypo spray attachment uses the standard NS series nozzle with a precision delivery mechanism facilitating the introduction of solutions directly on the atomizer nozzle tip. The center orifice which is typically used for liquid delivery is then able to shape droplets with a small gas flow. This device is also useful for coating small objects like stents and catheters. The hypo delivery system shown has one delivery of solution and can be purchased with up to 20 separate hypo needles for multiple fluids. |
![]() HYDROGEL SPRAYING WITH THE PPSAS ATTACHMENT |
The atomizer nozzle fits directly into this attachment, which uses a small gas flow focus droplets to a pin point. Liquid passes through the center orifice of the nozzle and is atomized at the tip. Gas surrounds the droplets, giving a spray with a sharp focal point. |
![]() DUAL MICRO FEED TUBE |
Sonaer has a line of micro feed tubes for controlling the flows of solutions. The tubes are excellent for lower flow rates and our dual micro feed tube is a good choice for hydrogel printing structures or preventing two reactive solutions from contact until it reaches the nozzle tip prior to atomization. |
